The .Billiards Association’s Control Council has barred the pendulum stroke after thirty-five consecutive cannons. SOCCER. NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. The council of the New Zealand Football Association met last night. It was decided that the gate charges for trophy matches be:—Wellington, Is admission, 6d enclosure, Is stand; Auckland, Is, st.aid Is; Canterbury, Is, 6d, and Is; Otago, Is, stand Is. Letters from the Wellington Association asking why examination for the referees was not available was referred to the New Zealand Referees’ Association. Mr W. G. Bryce said that the old papers were available till the now ones wore ready, but members of the council considered that there should be new papers each year. A cablegram from Australia said that the five heaviest members of the Aus tralinn schoolboy loam averages in weight 1231 b, and the remainder 891 b. The appeal of the Southern Club (Otago) against the suspension of H S. Batchin for using bad language to the referee was dismissed, and the ap peal fee was forfeited. BOXING. MACDONALD BEATS CASEY. In a ton-round professional bout at Oaraaru last night between Lachio Macdonald and Harry Casey the former gained the decision by a narrow margin of points. Tlic contest was hard fought throughout. Macdonald obtained a lead in the early stages, and Casey had the better of the last three rounds.
