GENEVA CONFERENCE

ANTI-BRITISH PROPAGANDA HOSTILE AMERICAN PRESS Press Associat ion—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, July 25. Contrary to expectation, there was no full Cabinet meeting to-day for the discussion of the Geneva negotiations, but tho subject will bo considered separately by a Cabinet committee and a section of the Imperial Defence Committee, and by tho full Cabinet to-morrow, when Mr Bridgeman and Lord Cecil will be given final instructions for dealing with the American objections to the Anglo-Jap-aneso compromise, which is now the basis of discussion. The ‘ Daily Telegraph ’ says that our Ambassador at Washington (Sir Esme Howard) has been instructed vigorously to protest against the unchecked antiBritish propaganda and tho misrepresentations of British statements which have characterised a considerable section of the American Press since tho Geneva Conference opened.
