Lyell Company, which is exempted from tho provision of the forty-four-hour award, in response to a threat by the men that they would work-only forty-four instead of fortyeight hours, issued a warning that they would be dismissed. The union officials conferred with tho management, and afterwards the men decided to refuse to resume work tomorrow, except under the forty-four-hours award. Tn this case over 1,000 employees will bo idle.
