PAINTING TRADE SLACK
The painting trade is still slack,-and there cqnnot be any appreciable improvement for a month or two, but with the coming of spring matters are sure to brighten up considerably. Theonly substantial contract let during the week was in connection with the renovation of Mr M'hcod’s tailoring.premises. hr the Octagon which were seriously damaged by fire about a fortnight ago. The contract was secured by Messrs Smith and Smith.
