NELLIE BRAMLEY COMPANY
‘ Paddy, the Next Best Thing,’ which is to be the inaugural production by the Nellie Bramley Company at His Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday next, is a comedy that had a wonderfully successful season both in London and in Australia, and has been described as a play of laughter, tears, and sunshine. The theme centres round Paddy, an Irish girl, who creates much concern among her friends, and who is a “devil-may-care ” person, whom, however, everybody likes. In this role Miss Bramley is said to reach her highest attainment in artistry, and to carry her audience with her. It is a play that should please Dunedin theatregoers, and is, like the rest of Miss Bramley’* _repertoire, to be presented by special arrangement with J. C. Williamson, Ltd. The support will bo exceptionally strong, as Miss Bramley’s company is composed of first-class English and Australian artists. The play will be produced by Mr Robert Purdy, and the dressing will be on a lavish scale. The box plan will open at The Bristol tomorrow (Thursday).
