A. very enjoyable social evening was given bv the Mornington Young Men’s Association, recently organised by Mr J. Howley and Mr S. Orr, last Saturday evening. During the evening games of various descriptions were greatly enjoyed by all present. After supper a very enjoyable musical entertainment was given by Mr W. R. Coxon and Mr.W. R. Woods, who contributed the popular ‘Poet and Peasant’ overture (Suppe) as a xylophone solo. For the encores several jazz numbers were well received. This was followed by a very pleasing saxophone solo by Mr J. Woods. The official accompanist of the evening was Mr J. Roberts. Much credit is due to the organising ability of Mr Howley and his assistant, Mr Orr, for this pleasing entertainment. The evening was brought to a close by the large number present singing ‘ Auld Lang Syne.’ inlMs up.
