“ LEAVE " PAYMENTS TO WIDOWS [Pcs United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, June 21. At the annual meeting of the Public Service Association tho Hon, R. A. Wright said tho Government ’ ad approved payment of the monetary equivalent of leave to widows and near i latives of officers dying while in the service. This means that if officer died while a member of the service, his widow or dependent children might he pa - 1 an amount equivalent to that which would have been payable to the officer iu terms of the regulations in the event of his retirement. Tho Government had approved tho recommendation of the Public Service Commissionethat provision bo made for the training of administrative officers by giving a selected number tho opportunity of taking up university courses on lines similar to tho training at present afforded professional and technical officers. A committee bad been appointed with tho purpose of reviewing the relations of the various superannuation funds and correcting anomalies and inconsistencies.
