THE ‘STAR’S’ APPEAL

At the request of His Worship the Mayor, a public appeal is made for subscriptions to give immediate relief to the unemployed position. Tho money subscribed will be spent on works, and will bo subsidised to the amount of £ for £ by the Government, and to tho same extent by the City Council out of its intended loan. Weekly donations are invited, and smallest amounts will not be despised. Subscriptions may be sent to the ‘ Star ’ Office, and will bo acknowledged in tho columns of this paper. Tho following subscriptions have been received
