PRAYER BOOK REVISION
VOTING IN THE DIOCESES REFORM FAVORED. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, June 15. Twenty important diocesan conferences, including the laity, recorded 5.152 votes in favor of the new Prayer Rook and 1,135 against it. The opposition has apparently been localised, and is most notable in London, Manchester, Blackburn, and Chester, whero Protestantism has long held a strong position. . , Meanwhile, the .voting of the synods at Southwark, Sheffield, and Ely, which was confined to tho clorry. was SIS in favor of tho reform and 178 against. Consequently, it- is believed there will be an assured majority in favor of the new Prayer Book at the Church Assembly to beheld on July 4.—Sydney ‘ Sun’ Cable.
