PRINCESS THEATRE
The George Wallace Revue Company’s offering at tho Princess this week is entitled ‘ His Royal Highness.' In this piece there are .some extremely funny incidents, and tho success of the performance may be ascertained by the fact that interest in the piece is unabated. Tho sketch is amusing, the songs humorous, and the dancing graceful. George Wallace is responsible for most of tiie fun. and his jokes never fail to raise a laugh. As Tommy Dodd, the New York larrikin, who becomes King of Betonia, George is at his best, and shoulders the bulk of the comedy work effectively. In his musical numbers, 1 Have a Smile ’ and ‘ 1 Am King,’ and also in bis eccentric dancing ho is hugely diverting. Tho rest of the company give valuable assistance to the fun maker, and they portray their parts cleverly. Marshall Crosby, as tho Ambassador to the King, and his attendant, Miss Letty Craydon, act particularly well. Les Daley (a New York crook), Tom Lincoln (the pie-stall proprietor), and Frank Haining (tho King’s counsellor) are also in tho cast. Miss Ada Scaddon and Charles Lawrence, who both possess charming voices, give good support to the vocal side of the show. The dancing of the Six Cnties deserves special praise, and especially their peasant’s dance, in winch they perform with a charming gracefulness. A feature of the show is the effective scenery, the railway scene being particularly glittersome.
