THE GAME IN AUCKLAND [opeciai, to tub ‘ Star.’] AUCKLAND, June 14. With seven _ matches > played the Rugby competition has reached an interesting stage. Ponsonby and Grafton head the list with 11 points, and Grammar Old Boys and College Rifles (for whom Barclay, the Alaori skipper, played a particularly dashing game against Training College last Saturday) aro runners-up with 8 points. Supporters of the game cau look forward to some keen contests in tho next round. Training College has not won a match, but in the second series of the games in the first round the team drew with Ponsonby and ran College Rifles to a couple of points (8-10),
