ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
FATAL FALL. Arthur Albert Smith, aged 43, residing at Island Bay, an employee of the Wellington City Council, died in the public hospital as the result of a fracture of the skull, due to a fall from a telegraph pole. He leaves a widow and lour children. —Press Association. KNOCKED DOWN BY MOTOR Cecil Banks, aged twenty-four, re siding at Pftpatoetoe, while assisting a motorist to crank a car that had stopped in the middle of the road, was knocked down by another car and badly hurt. He was sent to tho hospital with injuries to his chest, fractured ribs, and a fractured ankle.— Auckland Press Association telegram. FATAL COLLISION. A Waipawa Association message states that two motor cyclists, Albert Ernest Condliffe and James Simmons, met in a head-on collision at a corner near Tamumu this morning, the former suffering injuries from which he died almost immediately. Simmons had a leg fractured and suffered facial injuries. Deceased was married, without family.
