REVOLT IN NICARAGUA
A TRUCE DECLARED SETTLEMENT NEGOTIATIONS. Prose Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, May 6. The State Department announces that a truco has been declared in Nicaragua, paving the way to a settlement of the revolution. The arrangement provides for President Diaz to remain in office, the disarmament of both sides, an immediate general peace, a political amnesty, the return of all seized property, the participation of the Liberals in the Conservative Government, the organisation of the.native constabulary commanded by Americans, American supervision of the 1928 elections, and a continuance of the marines to maintain order. DISBANDMENT. OF FORCES. MANAGUA (Nicaragua), May 7. General Jose, commander of the Liberal forces in Nicaragua, nas been ordered to liberate the troops, disband them, and give the arms to the United States marines.—A. and N.Z. and ‘Sun’ Cable.
