BARD OF WALES
WANTS TO PAWN CROWN. LONDON, April 20. Crowned last year by the Duke and Duchess of York, as the Bard of Wales, the Rev. .Emrys James has fallen on evil days’, and wants to pawn the crown. “ Now I am a wanderer,” he says, “ and my wanderings have shown me that there are more Christians among the outcasts of London than in all the chapels of Wales. “Nationalism is the artificial effervescence of second rate genius. “ Most Welshmen to-day are harlequins who prance to the syncopation of narrow non-conformity before a blackcloth of their outraged hills.”
