A lengthy discussion took place at a special meeting of the Gisborne Harbor Hoard on the geologist’s report on the Whareongaonga quarry, where Gisborno is to draw supplies of stone for the breakwater construetian in the new harbor works. It was finally decided to apply to the .Minister of Mari: a asking mm to send Mr Furkett to Gisborne to report on the harbor works generally. Quarrying operations at Whareongaonga are to cease in the meantime, except to open up the south--ern side' of the sea face, the work so far having been proceeding at the northern end. The other Jiarbor works are to proceed, as usual, in the meantime.
