PLUNKET SOCIETY'S GROWTH
HOSPITAL AND EMULSION FACTORY OPENED [Per United Press Association.] May 5. The Sir Trilby King Karitanc Hospital was opened to-day for immediate occupation, and Sir Truby’s emulsion factory was also formally handed over to the Karitano Products Society, Ltd. The Hon.. -Mr Young (Minister of Health) royiowed. tho growth of the Plunket Society during-the last twenty years, .stressing the groat mortality among children through the ignorance of mothers, of tho correct methods of feeding young babies. This mortality was now reduced from 88 per 1,000 to less than 44 per 1,000, and there arc now sixty .branches of the society, and 100 nurses..throughout New Zealand, while Plunket methods arc adopted in all parts of the world.
