RUGBY At Carisbrook tho Pirates will meet Zingari-Richiriond at 1.30, and this .should provide a- fast, open game. Pirates, while they disappointed their supporters last Saturday, showed they had the makings of a good side. The forwards bad not yet struck form, and the young backs are gaining experience each week, and should develop into a good combination. Tho Zingari will have a particularly strong forward division; and should prove a tough proposition to opposing (cams. At 3 o’clock the Southern will meet Kaikorai. The Southern have put up two good games so far thi-s season, and have a fine young team that should improve as (he season progresses. The Kaikorai put up an attractive game last Saturday, and the backs showed that they could play an open game. Tho forwards are bound to improve as the season progresses. Mosgiel residents should witness a spectacular game between the ’Varsity B and Taieri. A good game should be witnessed at Opoho between Alhambra and Dunedin. Tho former have put up two good games in their previous engagements, and have been somewhat unlucky in being defeated. Dunedin arc also showing marked improvement, and put up a good game against Zingari last • week. On the North Ground ’Varsity A will meet Union. Official guides will be on sale at the Otago Sports Depot, S. Jacobs’s, and at Cnrisbrook. Patrons arc requested to have the correct money, and thus save time at the turnstiles. SOCCER The match between Northern and Southern at Gulling Park should be a closely-contested one. On last. Saturday’s torin, the Southern team is evidently a very strong combination, with a forward line capable of carrying the attack up to their opponents and testing the defence. As Northern has also proved a strong attacking team, capable of notching goals, the meeting of these teams has been looked forward to with a good deal of interest. The game is timed to start at 3 o’clock, and the third grade match Southern A v. Southern B will be played as n curtainraiser, starting at 1.45. Spectators are assured of a, good afternoon’s sport at Culling Park. The Technical Old Boys-Moruington match, at Mornington, should provide a good display of Soccer, while the two first-grade matches on the Oval should also result in good games. ,
