DIVORCED COUPLE
BOTH CLAIM OH SON'S DEATH [Peb United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, May 3. Before the , Arbitration Court _ a divorced couple entered separate claims in respect to the loss of their son, Allan Blomfield, who died as the result of injuries in an accident. The claimants were Constance* O’Callaghan, married woman, and Charles A. Blomfield, of Christchurch. Defendant was J. B. Ferguson, contractor, of Auckland. The mother claimed no specific amount; but the father, who is blind, claimed £SOO. Both claimants asserted that deceased had contributed to their support £4 18s sd. , Counsel said the case arose as the result of tho dissolution of the marriage of claimants before the son’s birth. Mrs O’Callaghau had borne the cost of her son’s education until h© was fourteen. The son, who had attained the age of twenty-one, was only introduced to the father » year before his death.
