Messrs Donald Reid and Co., Ltd., report:— Oats.—The quality of the local-grown oats is not up to previous year’s standards. Only a small, proportion of the samples offering are A grade, and these aro, as a rule, keenly inquired for. H grade and under grades aro slower of sale, and a big proportion of these will bo held back in the meantime. Wo quote: A grade, to 2s 6d; B grade, 2s 3d, sacks extra, on truck, country stations. Wheat.—This market is still erratic. Tuscan has been selling at 5s Cd, with 2d extra for Hunter. Velvet, which is apparently in short supply, has in some cases brought over. 6s per bushel. Farmers aro not keen to part with thoir stocks at present, and, on the other hand, millers_ have plenty on hand, so are not pressing sales. Chaff.—There is ample coming forward to meet local inquiry. Farmers are inclined to hold back at present in anticipation of better values later; but, with the large quantity that is available throughout the country this year, value cannot improve to any great extent. Prime chaff is worth £4 10s to £4 15s, ex truck, sacks extra. There is no demand for other grades. Potatoes.—Tin's market is, if anything, easier. Digging is commencing in earnest, and trucks are being, stored in the meantime. Very little shipping is being done, as local merchants find it difficult to compete with the low prices ruling up North. £4 per ton, ex truck, sacks is, is market price to-day. PROPERTY SALE.
