ROYAL SHOW LAMDS
The Now Zealand Meat Producers’ Board has just received from London the judges’ report on the prize lambs from the Royal Show recently_ held at Auckland, the carcasses of which were judged on Rraithfield. The first and third prizes were awarded to Neil Reid, of Ngahinapouri, Auckland, and the second to A. Miller, of Hamilton. The prizes donated by the Meat Board were:—£ls, £lO, and £5. The judges considered this one of the finest displays of lamb seen on Smithfield. The dressing, condition, and finish were excellent. Messrs Harrods, Ltd., purchased all the ninety-three carcasses for the purpse of a special display in their London store. Air extract from the report of the judges who awarded the prizes on Smithfield reads as follows; “ Reviewing the consignment as a whole, it was o fthe type most desired on Smithfield, and reflects great credit on the dominion, which still holds the laurels for producing the best iambs imported by the Hoirie Country. “ A very keen, discerning eye was required to select the be&c pen of three lambs, and it was only after a strict system of selection and elimination that we arrived at a final decision.”
