- ACTION AGAINST NEWSPAPER. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, March 31. Mr H. D. M'lntosh, a well-known theatrical manager, has issued two writs, each claiming £IO,OOO damages, for alleged libel. One is against Mr R. Packer, publisher of Smith’s Newspapers, Ltd., the ether is against Smith’s Newspapers, Ltd. The alleged libel is contained in an article published in the ‘ Daily Guardian ’ in connection with a luncheon given by the Duke of York.
