SECRET OF LIFE

—— EXPERIMENTS WITH WHALES EXTRACTION OF GLANDS. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright NEW YORK, March 30. The Berkeley expedition, which is sponsored by the University of California. is killing two whales a day in order to obtain the pituitary glands for experimental purposes. The carcasses are set adrift when the tiny organ at the base of the brain is extracted. A barrel of these glands will finally be delivered to Professor Max Dunn, who hopes to separate the constituent elements and find the agency which causes the whale’s tissues to grow to leviathan proportions, and so possibly solve the secret structure of all animal life.
