A SLIGHT IMPROVEMENT. A Christchurch message states that the condition of Traffic Inspector Cross, injured on Tuesday, shows a slight improvement fo-day. RAILWAY ACCIDENT. YOUNG GIRL’S TRAGIC DEATH. A Pukekohe Technical High School girl named Lily Isabella Reid, fourteen years of age, whose parents reside at Ponga, near Papakura, met her death in tragic circumstances this morning. The deceased was a passenger on the train.that arrives at Pukekohe at 9.10. When 600yds north of Pukekohe station the deceased left the carriage for the platform, presumably with the intention of being the first to disembark, and she fell from the platform, her clothing evidently becoming entangled in the wheels of the carriage. _ Death was instantaneous. No one witnessed the accident. Upon arrival at the station her 'school mates informed the station master that Lily R.eid was missing, and two porters who were sent to search found the body.—Pukekohe P.A. telegram.
