After a conference with the representatives of the coal owners and the miners, Mr Lazzarini announced that, although finality had not yet been reached owing to certain by the miners, which the owners required time to consider, there was a distinctly conciliatory spirit shown at the conference, and the prospects of a settlement of the dispute were bright. AN AGREEMENT REACHED. SYDNEY, March 30. (Received March 31, at 1.30 a.m.) The Coal Conference later reached a basis of agreement, which all parties have undertaken to recommend to their respective organisations, and unless a further hitch occurs the mines are expected to resume within the next lew da vs.
