"NEWSPAPER STUNT”
NEW TITLE FOR DUKE DOMINION OFFICE’S VIEW. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, March 30. (Received March 31, at 9.15 a.m.) “ A newspaper stunt ” was the comment of a highly-placed authority on the suggestion of the title “ Duke of York and Canberra.” The view of the Dominion Office is; “ Where is the thing going to end? It could go on interminably with every visit of Royalties to any part of the Empire, until the title would take an hour to write. However, we have no cognisance of any such suggesion. It is not a matter for discussion.” EMANATED FROM SYDNEY. SYDNEY, March 31. (Received March 31, at 12.10 p.m.) The reference in to-day's cable from London to the suggestion that the Duke of Y'ork be created Duke of Canberra emanated from a Sydney evening paper. The suggestion is not regarded seriously, nor is it receiving much local support.
