The annual installation of officers cf the Olive Branch Juvenile Lodge took place in the hall, George Street School, A.D Hro. Thompson presided over a good attendance, many adult members of the order being present. Official visits wore received from the D.P., Bro. Macfartane, and G.P Bro. Bailey, Canterbury district. A Druidic welcome was extended to both. Several Grand Lodge representatives paid a visit, and at the close expressed their pleasure at what they had seen of the conduct of the juvenile officers. Bro. Bailey, assisted by Bro. Alacfarlane, installed the officers for the current term, and a vote of thanks was accorded them. At a later period of tho evening prizes (books) were presented by Bro. Bailey for attendance during tho year, and he gave a short address on attendance and attention to lodge duties. Superintendent Bro. Fan ids tendered thanks to Bro. Bailey for his attendance. He stated that tho juvenile movement would be placed before the Canterbury brethren at an early date. The north end Druids (Lily of the Valley* Lodge) held their usual meeting in the hall, North-east Valley, the A.D. presiding over a fair attendance. After tho routine business had been dealt with, a rehearsal of the ceremonial work was carried out, as the lodge was to conduct the business ot the Ivanhoe Lodge at an early date. A vote of congratulation was carried concerning the secretary (Bro. Watson) on his election ns Grand Lodge Grand Guardian. Bro. Watson briefly replied, thanking the members. The Grand Lodge report was held over till nextmeeting. Later the officer paid a visit to tho Linden Lodge for the purpose of competing for the euchre shield, which they won, the numbers being:— Lilv 12. Linden 4. The Royal Arch Chapter of Otago hold its monthly meeting in the hall, Dowling street, R.A.D. Bro. A. Walker presiding over a fair attendance. Considerable correspondence was dealt with, several approving of the chapter’s action in forming a Lodge of Instruction, which will bo started at the next meeting. It was intimated that Ivanhoe Lodge had won the Beazley banner as the most efficient lodge in No. 1 district. The R.A.D. was appointed to represent the chapter at the evening to be given to G.P.O. Bro. Sherborne at Gore on Friday. Several items concerning “ good and welfare ” were discussed, and a committee elected to re- ■ cast the rules and submit them to the lodge. A degree meeting will be held shortly, when past officers will, have an ipporfunity of getting their certifi•ates.
