Page was next in, and soon after Blunt reached SO with a 4. off Ebeling. Page turned the fast man nicely for 6. and 150 appeared. Blunt-(survived a confident appeal for Ibw off Hendry. Page aroused enthusiasm by driving Ebeling to ropes. At 2.15 the score was one for 161—Blunt not out 86. Page not out 15. Page soon settled down, and quickly ran into the twenties, batting with great freedom. 180 appeared on the board, and the deficit was thus knocked off. William M'Vny. aged seventy, reported missing since January 21, is now reported as having bean taken■ seriously ill when visiting a iripnd in the country. Ka is how recovering.—Auckland Association message.
WAIMAKARIRI IN FLOOD
A Christchurch ,P.A. telegram reports another rise in the Waimakarin in the back- country, it was reported that the water had men ffit at Oxford at 7 o’clock this morning. The break on the West Coast railway line at Cora Lynn was sufficiently repaired this morning to allow the .West Coast .trains to run through.
