The market was fairly quiet thi.l morning. Buyers of Commercial Bank shares offered 30s, without a selling quote being received. Shipping shares came in for good inquiry, but the only selling quotation to be received was, in P. and 0. Deferred Stocks at £260. Howard Smiths were wanted at 30s 6d, while 46s and 21s were offex*cd for the ordinary and preference Issues respectively of Huddart-Parkcrs. In the' coalmining section the only quotations -*er6 from buyers of Westports and West-port-Stocktons (pref.), who offered 35s and Is respectively. A buyer of Perpetual Trustees offered 61s, but no selling quote was received. A buyer of Southland Frozen Meats at 30s found a seller n’t 335. Dominion Rubbers were on offer at 495. but no buyer was present. New Zealand Milk Products wore wanted at 20s. without any selling offer. The A and B issues of St. Bathans were offered at 12s dis. and 13s dis. respectively, but attracting a buyer. TJiero was little change in the War Rond section. ■ 'aliens as undox:— BANKING.
