SOUTH AUSTRALIAN ELECTIONS A KEEN CONTES! 1 . Press Association—By Tehgraph—Copyright, ADELAIDE, March 28. (Received March 28, at 10.30 a.m.) The General Elections of South tralia resulted in a keen contest. The latest available figures give the LiberalCountry Party twenty-four seats and Labor twenty-two. The main question at issue between the parties was the financial position, particularly the loss of over £500,000 on the railways. Counting in Local Option, the polls rre not far enough advanced to give any indication of the result.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA GOVERNMENT’S FATE IN BALANCE. PERTH, March 28. (Received March 28, at 10.30 a.m.) The progress figures of the General Elections indicate that the fate of the Government is in the balance Present indications are that the United Party gets sixteen seats arid the Coilntry Party seven. Of the remaining twentyseven seats, the United Party is confident of winning four in the north' west, leaving Labor twenty-thre«.
