MR AMERY TO TOUR DOMINIONS WILL LEAVE IN AUGUST Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, March 24. Mr L. S. Amery (Secretary of State for the Dominions) has definitely planned a comprehensive tour of the dominions in tho autumn.—‘ The Times.’ The parliamentary editor of ‘ The Times ’ says that Mr Amery intends to start early in August, and he will probably return at the end of the year, after visiting Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. It is expected that Mr Baldwin will accompany him to Canada. Tho Government considers that the Imperial Conference must he supplemented by a tour by the Secretary of State between the conferences.—‘ The Times.’ PROVISIONAL PROGRAMME. LONDON, March 25. (Received March 26, at 9.15 -a.m.) Mr Amery’s provisional programme lor the tour is to visit South Africa in August, then Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, arriving at the last named dominion at Christmas. [A message received on February 20 stated:—Plans are now being discussed enabling Mr L C. Amery (Secretary of State for the Dominions) to fulfil his ambition to visit Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and South. Africa officially. This tour would occupy at least eight months, which his colleagues may deem overlong for him to bo away from tho Dominions Office- In that case Mr Amery would do Australia and New Zealand in ono year, and the others in rotation. Jf it proves possible to do the grand tour “ in one bite,” Mr Amery will leave London next July, and be in Australia at tho «nd of the vear.]
