Three children named Wilford Mumford (aged seven years), William Mcarns (aged ten), and Dorothy Mearns (aped six) were playing on the banks of the Ynrra at Studley Park. They were missed, and their bodies were afterwards found in the river. The father of the Mcarns children spent several hours diving, and when almost exhausted he discovered the body of his daughter.
