Four aud eleven was the amount for which four parcels of Milburn Lime and Cement (rights) were sold this morning on the call. Business was also;done in Kawaraus at 3s 9d (two). Cements closed with a penny margin, the quotes standing at 4s lid (buyer) and os (seller), while Kawaraus were still wanted at the sale price, but were not offered for sale under 3s lOd. No improvement was made to the buying offer of 6s 2d for New Zealand Refrigerating (cont.) or the selling price of 6s 4d. Both quotes for Bank of New Zealand stood at 59s 3d, but different-sized parcels were asked for and offered for sale. The banking division did not receive a great deal of attention. Only the contributing issue of Auckland Amusement Park, Ltd., was given attention, a seller of this stock asking Cs 3d premium. Brown, Ewing’s (ord.), Bruce Woollen Co., and D.T.C. (pref.) remain practically the same as last week. Sellers of New Zealand Drugs refused to come below 71s 9d. while buyers were willing to give 70s. St. Bathans still remain at a discount. Big Beach were again offered to buyers at par. One and three separated the amounts recorded for Upper Nevis. When the hammer fell 35s 3d was the highest amount offered by buyers for Westport Coals, but the sellers could not be induced to coma below SSs 9d.
