Eight and 2 singles came off the first over.; A single to Blamires came off Badcock, but next ball saw Zimmerman’s dismissal, Holiings taking a catch in the slips. 135—7—1. H. C. Alloo was next, but soon lost Blamires, who was out Ibw to Badcock. 138—8— 8. Torrance was next, but failed to score, being caught by Holiings off Badcock. 138—9 —0. Green was the last man in, and commenced well with a hit for 4, later placing the same bowler to the boundary, reaching 10. Green contimied to bat aggressively, scoring two boundaries in succession.
