ACCUSED OF ESPIONAGE
CHARGE AGAINST ALLEGED BRITISH ’ OFFICER ARREST IN PARIS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright, PARIS, December 28. Vivian Strandcrs, who is alleged to be a former British officer, was arrested when leaving Paris for Germany', and Was accused of espionage. Though it occurred on December 21 the arrest was announced only after inquiries lintl been made by the French counter-espionage service, who state that Dr Weber, head of the German Secret Service in Franco, paid Stranders 1,500 gold marks for an answer to a detailed questionnaire regarding the army, aviation, tanks, and machine gun improvements. ,
