(Received December 28, at 11.30 a.m.) In glorious weather the holiday was observed in the usual semi-religious manner. 5 Exceptionally heavy motor traffic resulted in many accidents. A policeman riding a motor cycle was killed, and in various accidents forty people were injured, including fourteen in a collision between a lorry and a tram. FIRE AT KYOGLE BUSINESS BLOCK DESTROYED. SYDNEY, December 26. (Received December 28, at 11.30 a.m.)' Fire at Kyogle destroyed a block of fifteen business premises. The volunteer fire brigade, owing to the shortage of water, -was unable to cope with the outbreak till it cut off the spread of the fire by destroying the intervening buildings. The damage is estimated at about £IOO,OOO.
