(Received December 21, at 11 a.m.) The editorial staff of the Glasgow ‘Evening Standard,’ a Socialist paper owned by Mr J. Wheatley, M.R., struck alleging victimisation and a breach of trade union principles. The editor asserts that the reporters, who were entitled to £3 10s weekly, received from £1 17s 6d per week to £1 10a lid. When they secured an increase to SO per cent, of the union rates one of the most highly-paid men was dismissed, and a boy brought in in his place. The firm denies the allegations.
