Briand and Dr Stresemann’s desire for an enduring peace is supported by tho German Republicans, according to Dr Wirth, a former Chancellor; “but,” ho added, “storm clouds aro gathering. Trifles are delaying the work begun by tho Thory conversations, owing to the French Government’s irreconcilability and the newspapers magnifying insignificant disarmament details. France’s war spirit is still unchecked, but. the Gormans are resolved that no blame shall attach to the Fatherland for any future war.”—‘The Times.’
