Begg (chairman of tho Water Committee) presented his report at last night's City Council meeting Cr Clark brought up an important qU<e ‘ S When,” asked Cr Clark, “ will the council get from the engineer his report regarding tho best means of providing a permanent and adequate water supply for tho city of Dunedin ? I know the engineer has had a lot to do; but if ho is too busy I think wo might consider getting a report from an outside engineer. Tho matter is urgent.” Cr Begg replied that the engineer was even now preparing his report. He has, added the chairman, gone into the whole question very carefully and exhaustively, and his report will como to hand at any time; but he has been exceptionally busy, these last few weeks particularly. The Water Committee’s report was adopted.
