At the inquest, on Olaff Trapp, boatswain of the Apanui, who was knocked down on October 27 by a motor lorry driven by James Irvine Dines, the latter stated that he was passing a stationary cart at a slow speed when deceased stepped from behind the cart, and the guard rail on the radiator struck him, the front wheel passing over him.
