‘WATCH YOUR STEP’
COMMENCING LABOR DAY. Full of pep, catchy refrains, dazzling scenes, and artistic effects, ‘ Watch Yom tilop' opens its season in His Majesty's 'theatre at the Crossword Puzzle Matinee on Monday (Labor Lay’;, and will continue until 'Wednesday evening. Over bUU performers will participate in ‘ Watch lons Step,' while an orchestra of fifteen musicians, under the baton of Mrs W. HaggiU, and led by Mr J. A. Wallace, L.T.C.a., wit play specially selected music. The scenery ami dresses nave ail beu made locally, auc are wresting and artistic in design. The tevuo is being presented by Mr J. V. Hanna, and is produced by Mr Percy James. Tbe management have been fortunate in securing Madam Marjorie Cadman, Miss Molly Andrews, Mr A. J. Luugley (vocalists), and Miss Winnie Robinson and Mr L. T. Williams (ballroom dancers), while the incidental dances and ballets have been airwiged by Miss Lappan. ‘On tbe Beach at Waikiki,’ a pleasing picture, set at Hawaii, depicts a squat! of natives going through a scries of physical “ jerque*, ’ while a change of scene transports tho audience to Canada, whore-a bevy of charming girls in their striking ski-ing costumes are to be found amidst a setting of dazzling snow. In this scene 1 Our Lady of tho Snows,’ tho famous Tsohaikowsky Snow Ballet, is introduced. ‘ Wonderful Argentina ’ is sure to bo amongst the favorite items. The dresses in this act will appeal to the fair sex. Miss Molly Andrews appears as “ Carmencita,” and presents the latest song succoncs, Valencia ’ and ‘ Spain.’ Mr Percy James makes his appearance in ‘Grandfather’s Day,’ and also in the scene ‘The Green Hat,’ specially written for the wee tots. A novelty number, which includes a mannequin parade and a tableau, has been included. The scenes include ‘ The Sioux Indian Camp,' with Madam Marjorie Cadman as “ White Swan.” A guardian of of tho law and a squad of athletes form the background for the scene of ‘ The Midnight Waltz,' in which number Miss Winnie Rombinson and Mr L. T Williams will demonstrate the latest ballroom dances. The Living Alabaster Tableaux ’ and a display by the seniors on the long horse, horizontal and parallel bars will occupy prominent positions on the bill of fare. ‘ Tho Land of the Almond Blossom ’ is a typical realisation of life in tho Orient. A number of specialty items have been included, and, altogether, a magnificent production has been tho result. The box plans on Monday will bo at the theatre office, and day sales may bo obtained at tho geyser.
