PETROL PRICES MELBOURNE, October 20. (Received October 20, at 12.30 p.m.) Following the increase in the tariff on petrol, Air Bruce recently announced that if the importing companies raised the price to meet the increased duties steps-would be taken through tho Commonwealth oil refining organisation to combat it. A rise m prices has follov'ed, and Dr Earle Page has reiterated Mr Bruce’s statement. Cabinet is now organising a scheme to carry it into effect.
