A man named Eastman was boating with his wife, Ellen, on the Woniora River, when ho suddenly became ill. Ho leant over the side of the boat and overbalanced and fell into the river. His wife attempted to rescue him, but was pulled into the water. A man on the bank of the river came to the rescue and recovered both, but the wife was dead. The husband has been sent to hospital in a critical condition.
