NEW MUSIC
Miss Emma M’Carthy, of Dunedin, has composed a caprice for piano, entitled ‘Pan in Chains,’ which is well worthy of attentive study. The reading of it is easy and the grammatical analysis simple, and those who take it up may proceed forthwith to an examination' of its musical ideas, which are certainly worth finding.
