BALiTiMEIYEII GLOB Mr A. Buchlcr presided at the annual meeting of the above club. The annual report stated; Notwithstanding the great attractions of the Exhibition, keen interest in tennis was maintained by all members of tho club. Two teams were entered for tho association competitions, and all acquitted themselves very creditably. The B and C teams were each runners-up in their grade. The competition for, ladder places was very keen, and some of the juniors considerably improved tlveir positions. At the commencement of tho season the three courts were topdressed, and were in good playing condition throughout. However, it is expected that the General Committee will lake in hand the relaying of the centre court for the 1928 season. In the association Yankee tournament for tho M'Millan Cup, for which there was ji cood entry, two members—Miss K. M'intosh and Air R. Smith—won the final. The usual club handicap was brought to a successful finish, and nearly every member competed. '1 he winners wore: Men’s singles championship, Mr R. Smith; men’s singles handicap, Air J. Park; ladies’ singles, Mrs W. Stevenson: men’s doubles, Messrs Gumming and Hindie; mixed doubles, Mr M'Millan and Miss Duke; ladies’ doubles, Misses Duko and APintosh. The thanks of tho club are due to Mr S. N. Brown, sen., and Mr A. M'Alillan for donations towards tho prize fund. Tho Chairman congratulated the club on its various successes during the year. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted. Tho following" office-bearers wore elected:—Vice-president, Mr 8. N. Brown, sen.; secretary, Mr A-, M'iiillan; General Committee—Messrs 1. Garden, Gumming, R. Smith, B. Seymour; Ladies’ Committee —Mrs Stevenson, Misses M. Duke. M._ Campbell,^K. M'intosh; Ladder Committee, Mr Seymour and bliss M'intosh; MatcßCommittee—Jtlessrs A. ITindle, H. "Wilkinson, and A. Buchlcr; delegates to 0.L.T.A., Messrs S. N. Brown, jun., and A. M'Alillan.

The opening date of the season was fixed for Saturday next. OTAGO CLUB Tho fortieth annual meeting of this club was held in tho Somerset Lounge on Monday evening, when there was a largo attendance of members. The annual report and balance-sheet wore adopted on tho motion of Mr Bundle, seconded by Air A. H. M'Lean. The report slated; It is with very deep regret that we record the death of one of our oldest and most enthusiastic members, Air Frank Leonard. Air Leonard was for some years a member of committee, and was at one time the club’s honorary auditor. At all times ho did what lie could to promote and further tho interests of the club. Tho membership list now stands as follow's:—Lite members 4,.active list 102, country members 2, honorary members 11. During the season the club entered and played an A grade team in the association matches. It is satisfactory to report that much keenness was displayed in the club tournaments throughout tho season. Tho result of matches were: Ladies' championship singles—Mrs Lemon 1, Miss Cook 2; ladies’ handicap singles—Airs Lemon 1, Miss Cook 2; ladies’ handicap doubles —Misses Cook and Ramsay 1, Misses Todd and Gallaway 2; men’s championship singles—E. V. Page 1, W. Bray 2; men’s handicap singles—E. V. Pago 1, W. Bray 2; nion’s handicap doubles— Page and Bray 1, Hawkins and Boddy 2: combined handicap doubles—Page and Miss Todd 1,. Bray and Miss Code 2. In representative matches Otago was represented by Messrs Page, Bray, Boddy,’ and Mattson, and Misses Cook, Todd. Ramsay, and Gallaway. In tho Exhibition and Easter tournaments the club was very successful, Afossrs Pago and Bray winning several championship events, while Miss Sheila Todd won tho ladies’ handicap singles at tho Exhibition tournament.

The election of office-bearers resulted ns follows --President, Mr H. W. Bundle; vice-presidents—Miss E. Jackson, Mis' W. Hislop., Mr A. M. M'Lean; bon. secretary, Miss Doris 0. Ramsay; bon. treasurer. Mr E. Roddy, committee—Misses F. Allen, Cook. N. Hartman, Messrs Bray, Haggitl, Macavoy; delegates to 0.L.T.A., Messrs Brav and Boddy; bon. auditor, Mr W. T. Monkman. It was decided to enter one A grade team for flag matches. The opening day was fixed for Saturday, September 25. _ Miss Jackson spoke in eulogistic terms of Air Bundle’s great work for the clnb, and congratulated him most heartily, on behalf of all members, on his recent marriage. This was received with acclamation. Mr Bundle, on behalf of his wife and himself, suitably yespondod.
