(I?cceivocl August 17, at 11.20 a.m.) A crowd gathered outside the Lambeth Coroner’s Court, where tho coffin which was alleged to contain the body of Lord Kitchener was lying. Tho proceedings were most secret. Tile coroner was attended by Sir Bernard Spllsbury (bon. pathologist to the Homo Office) and Scotland Yard officials and detectives. Tho examination lasted for threequarters of an hour. Subsequently the Homo Office announced that when the packing case was opened it was found to contain an empty coffin, apparently now. It was obvious that it had never contained human remains.—Reuter.
