(Received August 17, at 9 a.m.) According to tho ‘ Herald,’ tho session of tho State -Parliament, which opens on September 14, will bo a momentous one. Many important Bills figure on tho programme. Tho Government has no intention of introducing fresh taxes, or of increasing tho present taxation Sweeping changes are proposed in the Railway Department, including tho reconstitution of tho Commission, so as to make way for a man of outstanding business ability, with a view to placing tho service on a sound financial basis.
It is understood that tho Opposition will move a sweeping censure motion as soon as tho House meets.
