DRUIDISM

A.D. Bro. J. M'Ewan presided over a fair attendance of officers and brethren at tho last meeting of the Pride of Mornington Lodge. The visitors present were A.D. Bro. Hope, P.A. Bro. Sutherland, and Bro. Sinclair. A vote of sympathy was passed to the relatives of tho late Bro. Seclyo, and tho lodge was conducted in mourning. Another member was initiated into the mysteries of Druidism during the evening. Bro. Horwood gave details of tho preliminary meeting of the Syllabus Committee, for which ho received the lodge’s thanks. Bro. Qvam was also thanked for kind donation for the hard-up night. The toasts were dui.v honored and replied to. Bro. E. Thomson gave notice of motion of a question that should be of interest to all members of the lodge. Last meeting of Linden Lodge was held on Tuesday, A.D. Bro. Johnston presiding. After tho usual business had been transacted and bard report and sick pay (amounting to £ll ILs 8d) had been passed for payment, and discussion re booklet held over until nest lodge night, P.A. Bro. Stewart was granted leave of absence owing to tho illness of his wife. The lodge adjourned to carry out the evening’s programme—a fancy dress social. An invitation to Court Woodlands Pride, A.0.F., to b© present had been sent out, and a fine attendance of the ladies’ lodge received a hearty welcome by A.D. Bro. Johnston, and also all visiting brothers and lady friends present. One and all vied in making tho evening a pronounced success. Quite a number came in fancy dress, and the judges allotted the task had some difficulty in selecting the best. Recitations were given by P.A. Bro. Collier and Mrs Moss; also a song by D.P. Bro. M'Farlane. After supper had been handed round the _ judge' announced their decision, which was received with the best of goodwill— Miss Umbers, as tho gipsy girl, for the ladies; and P.A. Bro.
