HARRIERS
CAVERSHAM. The Caversham Harriers ran from the George Street School. Although a large number of members were laid up with the ’flu some thirty odd took advantage of the beautiful day. _ Paper was dispensed with, and Captain Mills piloted the pack up Duke street, through the quarry to the reservoir, where some fast heats wore ran off to decide the team for next Saturday’s relay race. The pack then struck up the road past the Leith Valley School and up a steep hill on to the paddocks on top of Pine Hill. From the crest of the hill the road was followed down to the Wfodhaugh bridge, where the run home was commenced. In a very spirited finish Inglis, Anderson, and Dove were first homo, the remainder of the pack closely following. LEITH. The Leith Harriers held their weekly, run from 923 Cumberland street as the guests of the captain, W. S. Buchanan, and deputy-captain, A. H. Williams. After the club photo was taken the trail, in the hands of S. Peterson and F. Foster, led up the Albany street steps, along the Drive to Prospect Park. From here it circled round the Rcservoir and down Woodhaugh. The pack was divided about half a mile irom home, and some last finishes resulted. The evening vas spent m enjoyable games and dances. • CIVIL SERVICE.
Civil Service held their weekly run from tho Caversham School. The hares (Stevens and Livingstone) laid’ an excellent trail along Forhury road, up Ailnndale road, skirting tho golf links, along tho dills to Green island Beach, across the sandhills, then across country, coming out on the Main road at Burnside. The road was then followed home. In a fast run home the leaders wore White, Poultcr, and M'Queen. After the run the members were entertained by Mr M. Stevens. ST. KILDA. St. Kilda held their weekly run from the residence of Mr and Mrs C. J. Foley, Mornington. The trail, laid by W. Steffens and S. Gibbs, led across the Kaikorai Valley, circling round Mount Grand, and down into Fraser’s Gully and homo by the Mill road. The throe whistles were given for the run home above the Roslyn Mills, B. Esquilant being first man homo, with T. Kee second. CARGILL ROAD METHODIST. Cargill Road Methodist ran from tho fire station, Mosgiol. Tho trail led over tho plain to the hills, and circled round, striking the Outturn road, which was followed home. The club was afterwards entertained by the Mosgicl Methodist Bible classes. PACIFIC. Pacific held their weekly run at Mosgiol as the guests of four of their members. The pack, under Captains G. Williden and W. Hobbs, ran along tho Main road towards Outram, then turned down Duke’s road, which was followed to Janclield. From hero a fast run home followed along Bush road. The following will represent the chib in the relay race next Saturday:— F. Mount, W. Smith, B. Drumm, G, Ward, and A. Kay.
