TUAPEKA BOWLING CLUB
The annual meeting of the Tuapeka Bowling Club was held in the pavilion, Whitehaven street, Lawrence, on Wednesday, when, despite the rough night, there was a fine attendance of members. Before proceeding with the business Mr F. Martin, president, referred to the loss the club had sustained through the deaths of Messrs G. 0. Taylor and Alex. Blair, both of whom had been valued members of the club. Tho report and balance-sheet showed tho club to have had a prosperous year, both from a sporting and a financial point of view, the club’s indebtedness to the bank having been reduced by £lO. Tho green had been well looked after during the winter, and its prospects for tho coming season are most promising. Four new members were elected, and the following officers appointed for tho coming year:—President, Air G. Glenn; vice-president, Mr J. Brooks; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. Boddy; auditor, Mr H. L. Darton; committee. —Dr Sutherland, Messrs M'Ara, Arthur, H. Asher, J. Brooks, A. DPGorkimlalc, J. H. Pearson, and W. G. M‘Kinlay.
