HOCKEY
OTAGO ASSOCIATION. Owing to the benefit concert for the widow of tho late Stan Foote being held on the 171 h inst., the usual meeting of the executive was held last evening in the Y.M.C.A., Mr D. V oodfiold presiding. Four entries for the senior seven-a-side, to ho hold on Saturday, at 2.45 p.ra., on tho Oval, were received—from University two, City one, Technical Old Boys one. A request from the Otago Ladies’ Hockey Association for the use of one of the association’s grounds on the Oval for Saturday morning was granted pro tern. The final decision was left with tho chairman to mako on Saturday morning. Mr F. H. Calder reported that the Combined Sports Committee had allotted from 1.30 to 2.40 for the City v. University A match on tho Caledonian Ground on August 21. It was decided to request tho teams to bo ready to start play at 1.15. _ The following donations to the association’s funds were received with thanks: —Messrs Coulls, Somerville, and Wilkie, £2 2s; Mr J. A. Robinson, £2 2s. As a token of appreciation for help rendered during the visit of the_ Indian Army hockey team it was decided to make the following donationsOtago Ladies’ Hockey Association, £lO 10s; Dunedin Highland Pipe Band, £1 Is; Artillery Band (Southern Command), £1 Is.
